Welcome to The Dark Side…

Salon meets Supercrit - Architectural Review and White Partners to host 'fringe' event at the 2006 Venice Biennale
Where can visitors find a forum for critical debate at the Venice Biennale? 2006 sees the launch of The Dark Side Club - a critical 'salon' where five up and coming international architectural and urban planning studios selected by the panel explain their urban propositions. Some of the national pavilions have also been asked to contribute to this debate, alongside key exhibitors from the Arsenale section of the Biennale. The Dark Side Club is the brain-child of Paul Finch, Editor of the UK's leading architecture monthly, Architectural Review, Peter Cook, Odile Decq and White Partners, the international architectural corporate strategy consultants. The series of three intellectually engaging after-dinner evenings on 7, 8 and 9 September 2006 will be held in the elegant surroundings of one of Venice's finest houses - the Palazzo Contarini (www.palazzocontarini.com).
The illustrious panel includes luminaries such as Peter Cook, Odile Deq, Paul Finch, Wolf Prix, Richard Rogers, Bernard Tschumi, Rem Koolhaas, Nick Grimshaw, Rafael Viñoly, Louisa Hutton and Matthias Sauerbruch, Chris Wilkinson as well as critics Mark Wigley, Aaron Betsky and Tony Vidler.
These open crit evenings - packed with nervous energy and flowing with alcohol - will be open to the public. The Dark Side Club is expected to be the after-dark meeting place during the opening days of the Biennale.
